peacemaking approaches to conflict resolution

Collaboration at the core

When conflict occurs, the vast majority of people want to resolve it as quickly and painlessly as possible.

My model is particularly useful to help people examine their situation and generate acceptable options for resolution that are unique to their individual needs.

I emphasize collaborative, goal-oriented communication with particular attention to the language of change.

My services are designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring each individual’s own reasons for change within an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.

  • I provide a guiding style of communication, that balances following(good listening) and directing (giving information and advice).
  • My services are designed to empower people to change by drawing out their own meaning, importance and capacity for change.
  • My  philosophy is based on a respectful and curious way of being with people that facilitates the natural process of change and honors individual autonomy.
